Around 8 months ago I took the first step towards something that I'd always wanted to try: homebrewing beer. I was on youtube watching other folks making their own brews and somehow found my way the Coopers website where I bought the new edition of their beginner's brewing kits. I had to buy mine online as Taiwan does not have much, if any, of a homebrewing culture and I knew I'd have to do some extra legwork to get this going. I hate waiting and I had to do the slowest shipping possible so as not to break the bank (and already paying as much money for shipping as the kit itself!). But, someone wise said something about people who wait and after several weeks of checking my mail for a package, I finally I got my kit in the mail.
Joy.
I correctly assumed that it was much too hot at that time to brew for the first time and I had no adequate space to store my brew during fermentation and conditioning. So I had to wait. Again. I used this time to do an extensive amount of homework as to the ins and outs of basic homebrew by watching hours of video on youtube, so I could really see what to do. I also spent quite a bit of time combing various forums for sob stories from newbie brewers such as myself so I also knew what not to do.
And then one night as I drove home from work I thought about when a good time would be to brew my beer, and the proverbial lightbulb lit up.
I'd do it right when I got home.
The rest is history.
