While walking through Jason's I happened upon some Coopers! I had yet to drink a Coopers beer that I hadn't brewed myself and I was very interested to see how to the commercial stuff tasted. Luckily there were two types, a stout and a pale ale.
Score.
I cracked the Pale Ale first.
At about 10SRM, the Pale Ale has a great amber color. I took a nose-full of beery aroma before I had my first sip, something I always recommend you do before enjoying a brew. I was expecting something really nice because of the Coopers name, and the Pale Ale did not disappoint. It is not as hoppy as an IPA (India Pale Ale), with about 16 IBUs, and the flavor is balanced out by the malty-goodness to achieve a smooth, crisp taste. I'm halfway through it as I write this and I really, realy wish I had another one. This is one of the better beers that I've had in recent memory and I can't wait to buy some more!
